Ore Museum

Introduction to the Ore Museum

Godo Shigen Co., Ltd. has been engaged in the metal mining business, mainly gold and silver, throughout Japan from 1948 to 1988. During that time, a huge number of ore and mineral specimens, including gold and silver ores, were collected under the leadership of Dr. Kiyoshi Isobe, the first president of Godo Shigen Sangyo Co., Ltd. More than 3,000 specimens have been collected, many of which are from closed mine in Japan, making them extremely valuable.

In October 2022, our company opened an ore museum in its new building, displaying some 1,400 ore specimens, including 1,100 specimens from 860 mines across Japan and 300 specimens of 200 types of minerals from Japan and abroad.
